If we play 6/1 we won't be forced to leave a direct shot next turn (i.e. with 6-2 roll). Not sure that gains much since we might end up being forced to leave a shot with that same 6-2 roll when clearing the 7-point. Another advantage of keeping the 7-point is that if we leave a blot on the midpoint (likely), opp's 2-2 won't hit. Those are small gains, but I hope they offset the wastage and slowdown of our bearin.
