I believe that breaking the 7pt to trap the ace point is the right idea. The way White salvages this game is by hanging on to two anchors, getting a shot, hitting it, and then containing it. You nip those chances in the bud if you force White to break the back anchor and successfully attack after that. White's deuce-point game chances are significantly worse than her double-anchor chances.

How to break is not so clear to me because White has a blot in her board that you wouldn't mind picking up, but 7/5 7/4 looks as good as any.

I think a bot rollout should be O.K. here. White will get at most 7 checkers back so there's not going to be any rolling-a-six-prime-around-the-board nonsense. XG seems to understand trapping in this sort of position reasonably well.
