25/23, 8/4* has chances for a fast kill, and the downside doesn't appear so bad. This looks like a classic "play to your own strength and into opponent's weakness". It's also a Magriel safe-vs-bold play, though probably not a 'classic' case.

These axioms/rules-of-thumb are great, except when they don't work....
