Note that 0.787 is very close to 110% of 5/7. Let's see how it works.

2-away, 6-away is 20.1% (acutally 20.06% to one more sig fig). You "know" this -- i.e. you can make this your starting point. Let's leave out the %-sign and just remember you're dealing in %. Rule: in every step and sub-step, round to one position to the right of the decimal point. Here goes.

2-away, 7-away: 20.1 * 5 = 100.5. Divide by 7 --> 14.4. Shift decimal point and add back in --> 14.4 + 1.4 = 15.8. (actual is 15.77)

2-away, 8-away: 15.8 * 5 = 79. Divide by 7 --> 11.3 Shift decimal point and add back in --> 12.4. (actual is 12.46)

2-away, 9-away: 12.4 * 5 = 62. Divide by 7 = 8.9. Shift decimal point and add back in --> 9.8. (actual is 9.80)

2-away, 10-away: 9.8 * 5 = 49. Divide by 7 = 7. Shift decimal point and add back in --> 7.7 (actual is 7.70)

2-away, 11-away: 7.7 * 5 = 38.5. Divide by 7 = 5.5. Shift decimal point and add back in --> 6.1 (actual is 6.07)

2-away, 12-away: 6.1 * 5 = 30.5. Divide by 7 = 4.4. Shift decimal point and add back in --> 4.8 (actual is 4.75)

2-away, 13-away: 4.8 * 5 = 24. Divide by 7 = 3.4. Shift decimal point and add back in --> 3.7 (actual is 3.75)

2-away, 14-away: 3.7 * 5 = 18.5. Divide by 7 = 2.6. Shift decimal point and add back in --> 2.9 (actual is 2.93)

2-away, 15-away: 2.9 * 5 = 14.5. Divide by 7 = 2.1. Shift decimal point and add back in --> 2.3 (acutal is 2.31)

If you need more digits to the right of the decimal point you should be able to do that, too. But now you've got a bit tougher mental calc.
