But it should go without saying that just because some particular issue isn't so important as to drive people away by itself, doesn't mean that it's not a significant issue worth pushing for.
I have to agree with this sentiment. I predict that at least one match will have PR and VRR pointing in opposite direction, and that nobody will really care. I also predict that somebody will try to game the PR, and it will be obvious. People *might* care a little bit about that. It's not so egregious... Bill has published the rules in advance -- they're not ambiguous, and it's a decent contest.
The one obvious disadvantage of VRR is that virtually nobody understands it. Bob Koca explained it to me recently, and two things were IMMEDIATELY obvious to me:
(1) It's clearly better than PR.
and
(2) Almost nobody's going to get the definition of VRR.
Of course, nobody really understands the definition of PR, either. But the difference is that people *think* they understand it.
