If you are playing legal plays...is it wrong to accept the resignation?

No. An agreement to play legal moves says that when your opponent makes an illegal checker play you will always point it out to him (if you notice it) so he can replay it. In this situation the dice haven't even been rolled, so there is no illegal play for you to point out.
