Neat post! In these positions I also do the 'give opp a 62' trick (if necessary repeated). I then also check what happens if I give a 52 (repeatedly if necessary). I did not know the rule of 10, that is a nice one to know.

One more thing I'd note is that if I re-cube now, I'd need to at least roll 12 pips over the next 2 rolls, (played 17/x/5), because otherwise I would be re-cubed back. That means I am in a bit of trouble if I roll 11, 21, 31, 41 or 32 on the first roll. I'd see more downward variation that upward, so I'd also hold the cube for now.
