In Response To: Backgammon Ethics (Dave)

I'll bet the majority of tournament backgammon players have never recorded anybody's match in progress, let alone their own! That's inertia more than anything else: when tournament backgammon suddenly became popular 30+ years ago, there were hardly any books around and no agreed system of notation.

The second thing is that recording own matches would slow things down hugely.
