When it comes to study blunders-errors, I believe that the best approach depends on your skill level. Ideally, I believe that blunders/errors could be just a good starting point. Then the best process for me is to try and understand what parameters affect the position and by how much. This can be done, by making changes to the position. At the end try to file a borderline-easy to remember reference position (i.e. slot or split, slot or bring man down, slot or run etc.) and write along with it the parameters that affect it and how important they are. More work, but more useful files for later use even if someone does not memorize all the positions by heart.

Since the above process is self based, it is not suitable for every skill level. Personally, I have benefited far greater by reading articles/books rather than by studying my personal errors. Certainly the time might come, after someone reads a lot that he should focus on his own errors.
