What, if anything, can other games teach us?

I am sure you can find a links between backgammon and just about any activity if you look for it, but again, I think it's a stretch to think that is necessarily an efficient way to improve your backgammon.

Personally, I think I learned more from my marriages relative to risk/reward, safe vs. bold, when to cut your losses, and how to deal with uncertainty. Probably the best lesson was learning that the more you effort you put into it the better the results.
