  • Double/Pass is 6a 5a or 43%
  • Double/Take/Lose is 6a 3a or 29%
  • Double/Take/Win is 2a 7a or 84%

Risk/(risk+gain) yields 14 to gain 41 or 14/55 = ~25.5%. There will be no special recube vig as the take point on an 8 cube would be 16%. Also, the gammon value for the taker will now be drastically reduced since there's so much overage whereas for the doubler there is only 1 point of overage.

I try to take in the position itself before I worry about double/no double/tg etc.. The race is the first thing I note then I move around picking up on what I think are important features and then itemizing in my head how important I think each feature is. Here I know immediately that White's 3 men stacked on the 23pt is brutally bad. I really need to look no further for details to make this a huge double and I'd guess a pass. Yes, there are lots of other details to pick out like fanning numbers or how many hits from the bar or how many from the bar numbers that make the bar and don't hit or the dead checkers behind the anchor or or or and yada yada yada...but those 3 men stacked and already half trapped are the worst.
