transcriber agreement from USBGF

Here is the position of the USBGF and this will explain why the Draft Transcriber Agreement is as stated:
1.The USBGF believes that having a library of matches recorded in Extreme Gammon on its site is a significant benefit to members. Some of the un-annotated matches will be selected for annotation, another benefit to members.
2.The USBGF has invested in sponsoring streaming at tournaments for the purposes of broadcasting live matches for the community and for later use by having these matches transcribed into Extreme and posted on our site for our members. The USBGF goal is to be a reliable, consistent source of these matches, covering as many tournaments as we can. The USBGF has taken on this activity, in cooperation with directors, because it is a large expense for directors, and many tournaments and matches were not being streamed and transcribed by volunteers.
3.Volunteers, contractors, or staffs that are engaged to do this work for the USBGF are being asked to create intellectual property for the USBGF and therefore required to agree not to distribute this property to others.
4.Streamed matches are ‘public property’ and anyone can transcribe these matches or use them in any way they see fit. If someone other than a USBGF volunteer, contractor, or staff member wants to transcribe them into Extreme Gammon and release to the general public, the USBGF has absolutely no objection to this being done.
5.We asked Bill if he would join our staff as we have a large library of streamed matches than need to be transcribed along with other video’s that are in the public domain. He agreed and that is why Karen sent him our staffing agreement.
