Is "Tweener" another new Nactation term? I can't keep up with this stuff!
Anything new about Nactation won't be coming from my pen. 'Tweener' is a vague term -- a play that is neither extreme. Often it refers to plays that are between aggressive and conservative, but there are many other situations, such as between most 'racy' and most 'contacty', most blotty and least blotty, playing defensively and playing offensively (e.g. something between making the advanced anchor or making the homeboard point).
"Tweeners are usually wrong" is an axiom, but its reliability is suspect.
