Let's presume that the particular video to be transcribed is deemed to be in the public domain. In this instance, I am asserting is that the particular transcription made on our behalf, for purposes of posting on our site, cannot be replicated as presented on our site, because of trademark rights.
This is reaching the level of pure entertainment.
No, you can not take something that is in the public domain, eg. a backgammon match video, derive something from it, like a match transcription, which is essentially just presenting the essential parts of public domain item through a different medium, and claim any copyrights on it.
The lack of knowledge regarding the involved concepts (trademark rights lol) in these replies really project an image of your organisation as a copyright troll.
I hope in the future volunteers will prefer to simply upload transcribed matches to eg. othello's database rather than make them available to your organisation. It goes without saying too, that future requests for existing match transcriptions from any of your "writers" will, at best, get a fat no.
