Here's another possibility. Play two five-point matches. For the PR calculation, take both matches together and compute the overall PR. Now you have three things to look at: the score winner of the first match, the score winner of the second match, and the overall PR winner. You advance if you win at least two out of three. In the rare event of a tie, flip a coin.

One advantage of this system is that the PR of both matches counts. A possible disadvantage is that players must always play two matches in my system, whereas in your system, about half the time only one match is played.
