My proposal for an event combining PR and winning by score

I am not against PR tournaments, in fact I like the idea of them. But, they will have very few entries if there is any significant entry fee, as I stated in my post; 'You need to give the less skilled players some realistic hope of winning the event, if it is to be an entry fee event and you want more entries.'

Getting away from ROI is the way backgammon has been headed for quite sometime. The USBGF online tournaments have been very popular and there is no entry fee. Backgammon is continuing to transform from a gambling game to an intellectual pursuit. It will be interesting to see where it will be in 10 years.
