Yes, I did time out. It was in Chicago vs. MCG last year. But why are Mochy, MCG, and myself (oik, another M word!) scammers, Stick? Aren't we in fact victims of a scam, and entitled to some redress? Maybe we need to consult with Mellen (oops, another M...) about that.

But back to where this thread started, with Jake: Some players from the old days remember what a disaster the analog clock was when some directors tried to impose it on backgammon players (ca. 1998-1999). It's suited for chess, but for this game it was a poor fit, to say the least. Perhaps some of those people think the clocks we use now are just SSDD, but I don't feel that way at all.

I objected to the introduction of clocks "back in the day", and you might find printed examples of what I said about them then, but all the objections I brought up then have been answered with the use of time delays. These clocks really do help the trains run on time without discouraging complex play. I hope other people who remember the old clocks with distaste, will give the new ones a try. I'm glad I did.
