My name is Mustafa ALTUNTAS. I am a board member of ISTAVDER and responsible for education and foreign relations. If you have any questions or recomendation that can make this better is more than appriciated.

We have used this for 5 times. We have tried this system hundereds of times by simulation. Finally we applied this system to Istanbul Open in February. You can analyze the pairings from the following link :

http://www.ftbgsystem.com/t/117

First of all a player is not out of the tournament until he/she looses 3 matches. The tournament ends when there is only one player left. After the first 3 rounds the player who is most successful gets a BYE. If a player gets a BYE, he can not get another BYE until the end of tournament. The opponents are selected RANDOMLY each round. If you play with an opponent, you will not be able to play the same player until the end of the tournament. Tables are numbered before the tournament and not changed later. When the draw is done the player knows the table number and does not have to look for the opponent. In each round all the matches start at the same time. Clock usage is MUST. Player who wins the match brings the clock and declares the score to the director. All of draws are done by the special software developed by our member Ali Alcelik.

An extra to this tournament we have send SMS message to each player's cellular phone after the draw. By this way player learned the opponent / start time and table number.

If you check the tournament results, you will see that for the last 5 tournaments the 4 of the first 6 places was reached by the experienced players. For instance the champion Parviz Rokh had 2 losses after the 8 round. When he was able to reach final round against gaint Erhan Yenisen he had to beat Erhan for 2 times. Finally he became the champion. With a normal system Parviz had to leave the tournament on Saturday.

We really appriciate for the recomendations. We have the source code written in php that can changed.

Hope you will like the system.

Best Regards from Istavder.
