Swiss vs random draw

So you are saying that the random draw favors the better players in general, but the Swiss draw favors the top player in particular? That is certainly an interesting result, though perhaps it would change if the simulation were extended.

But is there anyone out there who can come up with a logical argument -- or better, a proof -- that compares the two formats and predicts the kind of results we can expect from each?
