Avoiding Grey areas (Studied Attempt)

In Response To: Gray Areas (Phil Simborg)

The dead heat for 3rd place in the Women's 100m at last summers US Olympic Trials created confusion as to who would qualify, after two athletes ran 11.068 seconds.

But US Track & Field had fairly impressive procedures already in place, perhaps putting the new Phil/Chuck/Jeb rules to shame! (See especially the Coin Toss Protocol, halfway down.)
