In Response To: Understanding Backgammon Position #3 (Timothy Chow)

16/11 gives White 15 shots.

Plus the 53 fly shot, so 17 shots, four of which hit and cover.

If we don't play 16/11, what do we play? Everything leaves a direct shot so 6/1* seems like the only reasonable alternative.

I was curious, so I took a peak. 6/1* isn't XG's only reasonable alternative.

Interesting position, and it surprises me that all Kit would have to say about it is that the plan is to race.
