Is this a good sign or a bad sign for popularity of bg?

Do you have a good sense for exactly what the student meant by this? In particular, why doesn't the student think it's a viable option to play the game now?

In American culture, it's axiomatic that getting old is bad, so this sounds like a negative comment. In an East Asian culture, it's not quite so axiomatic (though it's getting more that way, probably because of Western influence), and such a statement could mean various things.
