Rew, I partly agree with you (for Championship main flight).

But Nordic Open do welcome clocks and force them to some degree, if you take a look at the stated Clock Rules:

Championship: Clock Preference

Advanced: Clock Preference

Intermediate: Clock Option

Final rounds all flights: Clock Obligation

If a part of the tournament is lagging before the final rounds, try asking the TDs if they would:

A) Post a time for your next match (so you know you can leave the playing area and come back later), or

B) Set clock obligation for the matches lagging.

I'd assume that both options would be seriously considered.

As for side-events, you have a mix of clock rules, ranging from Speed (obvious obligation), to events with just "option", such as the warm-up that was played on Wed eve. You can always ask TDs for the clock rules of side-events, before you sign up. Personally I think it's OK to have a mix of clock options in the side events, which people can choose freely between - then you have something for everyone.
