6-2 to play

What's the gamplan? White leads in the pipcount but not in the race since it's not a race (yet) and White has a vulnerable back checker which needs to at least make it to the 13-point (Blue's 12-point).
8/2 looks right and OtB I would likely play 15/13 -- safe plus in position to make the 10-point or 7-point.
QF says something else must be in the air. White is going to run into the outfield and having an extra shooter could be Blue's best ploy. 16/14 and 13/11 are probably overdoing things but 8/6 (keeping the blot on the 15-point) may be just the right balance. Note White will be leaving more blots of his own if he chooses to hit from his midpoint.
Back to OtB considerations. Rob Maier (multiply retired from BG :) had a saying which makes a lot of sense: "the cute play is usually wrong." What he means is that trying to make a play OtB that you're not comfortable with (i.e. haven't studied) is more likely to lead to a blunder than it is to gain a few ticks. I'm sure there are people here who feel that axiom doesn't apply to them, and some of them may even be right. Still, not I:
8/2, 15/13
