I think A, B and C average out. Or, rather, I've used numbers that appear to balance the "equation".

I've lost about 2 points of equity (7 actual points tho) to steaming over a huge number of sessions. Certainly opponents steam. If you are a steamer and your opponents less so, you'd simply have to adjust the inputs.

But, yes, my point was really only that even for a player who is *very* good relative to his Chou-mates there is a frequent negative expectation.
