Chouette order rule - has anyone played this way? How common/uncommon is it?

I have not played in the Akron, Ohio chou in quite some time, but when I did play we followed all of these rules accept for one; we did not have auto doubles.

It was specific, the box had to beat the captain in order to retain the box. If the box dropped the captain and still won the game the captain took over as the box. In addition, a profit was not required to keep the box or lose the box.
