If you combine 13/10(2) with 4/1(x)2, I really don't see any rolls from the bar that leave your opp happy to hit on the mid pt. This type of play comes up sometimes. There are two ideas at work here. 1) is to force the blot to enter higher in the board where it will be under pressure of attack from made outfield points that also block it. 2) This play gets rid of the mid pt which is difficult to clear vs the 18 pt and leaves points in the outfield that can be used as landing points to clear towards home.

Is this the right play? I dunno, but it certainly seems to be an option to me.
