Annotated matches; my comments

There are three reasons I didn't (and still don't, with exceptions) like annotated matches in hardcopy form (online is different, thankfully):
1) You need a board handy to follow the non-annotated plays. Lying in bed or riding on a jet, for example, where I do quite a bit of reading, it's not that convenient.
2) A lot of the matches are already outdated.
3) Often (most of the time) the commentators don't address more than two candidates. Far too few writers (in just about every field) write to their readers. They write to themselves. If we knew what you knew we wouldn't have to read your frickin' writing!
One exception is Praxis vol. 1. (I haven't read vol. 2 yet, but assume it's equally as good.) Marty's exlanations are deep, and I suspect accurate. Most of the time (but there are exceptions) he discusses all reasonable plays, which is often three or four.
I'm going to read Kleinman/Ortega/Kazaross next. I've had that sitting on my shelf for longer than Stick's been insulting people on the internet (i.e. since he was about six).
