Best way to improve your BG?

Without doing a rigorous analysis (I used to do that), it seems like half of my matches end up in the 4's. A few make it into the 3's. More are in the 5's than the 3's. Occasionally I score an 8 or even 9.

I used to use SW to analyze matches. Now I use GNU-bg. But I think GNU-bg's method of calculating SW error rate is reasonably close to SW's original. (The verbal categories aren't, I realize that.)
