In Response To: Where did this play come from ? (neilkaz)

This comes from the second game of your 1999 Venice match final vs. Tardieu as annotated by Kleinman and Ortega (book).

You made the game-winning-attempt play (hitting). Apparently they used mostly JF cubeless rollouts (with some use of SW AtS rollouts) where the cube location affect wouldn't show up. I don't have it in front of me but I'm pretty sure there wasn't much (if any) comment on this play. (I'll look tonight.)

Up to that point in this game, Tardieu had missed two doubles (eventually reaching too-good). Maybe you were counting on him making some more cube errors this game?

I find it interesting so far (I only just finished the third game) the number and magnitude of errors, particulary by Tardieu (but you made some I wouldn't expect you to make today). This might show how much you have learned in the past eight years, or be an exhibition of the fatigue effect -- it was the finals so presumably you had been playing for a few days. In your case, this was many hours from your natural timezone, too.
