Wrong side of New Mexico

Fort Sumner, which is ~70 miles from the Texas border, halfway from the North border of NM to the South border. The terms "middle of nowhere", "God forsaken place", and "Hellhole" were coined to describe this part of the Southwest. If dry, barren dirt were valuable this area would be the mother lode. Amarillo is a veritable oasis, relatively speaking. (If you've never been to Amarillo, don't go out of your way....)
