OtB I make the 7-point without seeing an alternative. So maybe you are throwing us a curveball (anti-QF)?
You could dilly 6/3. You could slot the 4-point [6/4, 9/8].
Blotting is super anti-thematic. 6/3 gives you builders to try and knock opp's back checker forward. Secondarily you keep builders for the 4-point -- very important if opp stays on the 23-point. (So 'secondarily' doesn't refer to "of secondary importance" since both of these features are valuable -- knock forward and blocking/landing point).
After 7(2) Blue is obviously inflexible. The 7-point is definitely nice for clearing the mid, but homeboard work is important, too.
QF says 6/3. I just never woulda figured it OtB. We all need warning lights. The stripped position after 7(2) should trigger a warning light.
