Sacrificing Equity

IMHO there is only one reason to deviate from the advice of a competent bot:
I would willingly give up equity, if the 2nd or 3rd best move decision leeds to more complicated play, so my superior skill has more chance to show effect.
The amount to give up is a function of the difference of skill and to a lesser extent the style of the opponent. I would give up surely .01 - .02 against any opponent once or twice in each game of a match.
A little discussion could be found at Jonathan Schaeffer: "One Jump Ahead:: Challenging Human Supremacy in Checkers" A pretty good book BTW, even if not related to BG :))
ciao Frank
