This isn't a classic FRAM situation because you have two points to clear.

I have a hard time envisioning 8/3, 8/4 or 1(2) leading to future happiness. Between the two I prefer keeping the strong board.

I would actually try giving up the midpoint (13/8, 13/9). That's the more difficult point to clear and you get some returnskis. It's also fewer shots than 15/6 or 15/10, 15/11 (what I call a Pottle Split, although Sam denies taking credit for such a play :).
