OtB I'm sure I wouldn't leave a blot but QF helps me see the interesting 5/0, 4/3. If this is right, it looks to be because Blue has so many on that bar that even when hit (this roll) White has a decent chance to get around the board and back to the bearoff stance. When missed the chances of leaving future blots has decreased considerably, and future hits could give White the flexibility to bottle up that checker.

If right with four on the rail, what about with only three and two on the rail??
