Since he wasn't a world famous poker player until 5 years later than this at least, sounds like bg came first

I'm pretty sure this is right. Hansen is kind of in the Magriel/Harrington/etc.-tradition of becoming a great backgammon player, then leaving to become a great poker player, because that's where the money is. I can't fault him for that, but I have no idea whether he deserves to be on the list.

Oh, and I will not be casting a ballot.
