Why has this position been posted ? The best play is obvious init ? Well it is to the lesser mortal whose mind has not been hobbled by the mysterious value of the five point. It is the default play for such a person, which includes me. It was an education for me to see how often XG made waiting plays rather than optimising to attack a point, thus creating a small risk. All the salient positions in BG can be given a value. Runners away has a high value. The object here is to stop that runner. After making the fractured six prime the one plays itself. One could ramble on. Blue may well make a point on his roll. It is unlikely that the runner will get away with one of four rolls. Even then it will be under the cosh. That’s enough deep thought let the vagaries of the dice do their stuff.
