This is excellent. I ran your code, and it produced all the examples in your post. I did not check to see how robustly it handles malformed input. I did, however, add one more move.

In the position 61P-43Z-33, you can hit twice and make the 1pt by moving two checkers from the bar point. Here is the output from your program:

7/4*, 7/4, 4/1*, 4/1 <SEQ> 7/4*/1*, 7/4/1 <REM> 7/4*/1*, 7/1

Another way to notate this move is 7/4*/1*(2).
