I can agree that triple elimination or any other variation of Swiss is superior to 2KO to single out the winner. The problem with this system is that there is no real finale, semi final and so on, which is good for publicity.

I can't agree that progressive consolation was too progressive here. Actually it was counter-progressive, because matches in the fighters bracket were more important than matches in the main.
