What you say would be true if the matches in the fighters bracked were the same length as in the winners bracket, but they are not. For me it's fair that Henrik Veje had to win more matches, because they were shorter.

I see we have different points of view here. Maybe it's because I'm relatively new to backgammon tournaments, but I've play double elimination for a long time in other disciplins like table tennis and foosball.
