Your calculation presume that white will almost always backgammoned blue if he stay behind and miss a shot. On most cases white just clear his 3pt and white get one more chance to get his shot if white roll any ace except double 1s.

Anyway I run. Double backgammon worth six points and mean lost match while staying back and hitting a shot doesn't 'look' to me as good options, especially when blue has open 6pt as Stick already mention.

I go for my chance in Crawford and double gammon in one of next two games where white has free drop in first one.
