I struggled with this counter-priming play

Where do you get all these positions? You are a treasure trove of interesting stuff.

Here I'd play 24/22 23/22 12/11* on the theory that we need to get to the edge of the prime, that having arrived there we'd prefer to anchor, and that we need to remove playable outside pips. Then the prime might break when the third checker comes of the bar. And we may want and be able to make the 5 point later, depending on the scenario.

Somehow if we make the 5 now, we either leave the spare pips for White, but then White will not be likely to crack, or we put three on the bar against a 4 point board, which also will not help the timing battle.
