I think it points out a fascinating feature of team play....

Yes, and that includes 2-member teams (i.e. 'Doubles'). Although the clock usage there is a bit different than here, the same issues come up: when does one comment on the play? Is the perceived/accepted better player a good listener? When should you dig in your heals? How do you break 'ties'? Is there a danger of giving the opponents help in their upcoming decisions? When the smoke clears will we have strengthened the partnership or weakened it?

Hope you don't get tired of the expressions of gratitude, Jason, because you deserve even more than you receive, and not just from the active participants. Your knack for teaching has spilled over from your professional life and anyone willing to to follow the match is rewarded for it.
