Checkers on the 8-point (here) don't belong on the 5-point. Normally when opp makes an advanced anchor you're supposed to immediately go after one yourself. OTOH, there are other axioms which argue for the 5-point.

There are some other plays to look at, like the double homeside blots (6/5, 13/10) and some other splits (24/23, 6/3?). But those plays have their downsides so I don't see them gaining enough over the two 'obvious' candidates I began this thread with.
