about those doubles

i'm the dumbest backgammon player here, that's not disputable. However i do have a very good grasp of gambling and as I said before this match was played 30 games will not show us enough information to make any reasonable conclusions.
I watched the whole thing, and i agree with Phil's observation he held the cube a little to tightly when he played Mochy. The interesting thing is when I played Phil spotting him the cube a week before, he wasn't holding the cube as tightly. He was playing backgammon. And I got beat to death with no cube, I probably dropped more cubes than normal because Phil plays much better than me. So I played the player not the game.
He was playing the player not the game, when he played Mochy. That's my observation. It's not a knock on Phil, If I was in his spot I'd probably have done the same thing-I did when I played Phil.
Stepping up in any game is difficult and there are varied opinions on how to handle stepping up. Play the player, play the game? Everyone has a different plan.
I know when I'm the better player, i play the game because i'm better and that's all it takes to win.
So the thing to look at and learn from is when your the better player with out a doubt, what is the other player doing? There is a lesson there if they win(not by luck).
ok i'm done with game theory today, back to 25.0 PR BG.......
