Bob, the odds of doubles are high, but remember, if you choose a pair of dice you do not get to play them as doubles. You only get to play 4-4 as two 4's. However, if you roll 3 of a kind they must be played 6 times, and that is a potential joker in a race. Also note that sometimes, like in a priming game, rolling triplets is a huge crashing roll and it can be bad at other times as well.
As for the odds of bluffing, of course there is a chance, but given my knowledge of the opponent and the size of the cube I determined that there was little chance of a bluff.
When I played this games against Akiko and she gave me a 128 cube a few weeks ago in LA, I determined there was a very good chance of a bluff, as she had bluffed twice before in the same game. Needless to say she set me up for the big one. But she is going to be in Novi this weekend and she told me that she would only come if I agreed to play her some PBG.
And this time I will know for sure when she is bluffing!
