It always amazed me that my opponents in cubeful money games were performing at such an incredible level. I know darn well that the best players in the world perform as indicated in Iancho's list. I won money at BGroom by keeping a detail list of these extraterrestrial players and avoiding them. These players' ratings were no indication of their playing ability. Ratings ranged from 1500 to over 1800. However, I got so pissed off at this filtering process that I finally quit. Also, it irritated me that about 35% to 50% of the players had to be avoided.
I have played a lot of money online backgammon. I have averaged about 500 games per month. I do not have a high opinion of bg servers. However, I rarely experienced suspected cheaters at Play65 and TrueMoneyGames. I wish to be careful on this point. I liked the customer service and graphics at BGRoom. Much of BGRoom was equal to other bg servers. I will not conclude that cheating is prevalent at that site. In fact I only played most of the suspects in seven or less games before I avoided them. This is not enough evidence to make any conclusion. However, I experienced so much suspicious play compared to TMG and Play65 that I had to stop. Nevertheless, I told BGRoom that I would gladly return to their site if this matter is addressed. I like BGRoom. I wish them success. But, at this time I'm scared to play there.
