Just make the DMP play?

After any play we win tons of gammons. 3/1(2)* is a play after backgammons for me, but sacrifices too many single wins / gammon behind opening higher points in our board.
I like Neil's 7/1*. Don't know if I had even think about this OTB, but it seems to keep most advantages active - attack, while keeping the best-4pt. board, while keeping priming prospects active.
Although after the hit I'd play the last 2 as 10/8 to extend our advantages (slotting the prime, bring builders in case blitz succeeds). I don't see much risk here, since if we are hit, we still have enormous advantage for being on roll and only 1 guy vs. 4-pt. board to enter, while opp has 2 guys to enter vs. similar board. Also, even if he enters first, he can easily crack his board being behind 4-prime. Even if he hits, and enter faster, and jumps, he will likely have to give up a point to continue his outfield escapade, which opens him up for a blitz sweep once again anytime we loose-hit. With 2 points open and almost no builders, I think the risk he succeeds with an attack and escape and consolidating is a LONG LONG LONG shot for him.
