PSBS (long)

Once again I am delighted to be attscked by the single worst sport in the history of the ABT telling me, or anyone else, what is proper behavior.
All of his characterization a of my actions are exaggerated or blatantly false, but he needs to dig deep to find anything that might make me look bad, because there is little. I never complain, never berate may opponents, and am always a gentleman unless I have an opponent like Ray who is consistently sbusive to people before, during and after matches.
One statement is clearly false, and that is while holding the microphone I imposed my own rules on the tournament. My announcement that it was a non-legal moves tournament but players can mutually agree to legal moves was made with prior permission from the tournament director, but the director felt it was important that everyone understand the rules and the options for that tournament. The fact is, EVERY ABT tournament that still has non-legal moves allows the players to agree to legal moves, and it is important to make sure all players know what the rule is and what it means.
Personally I have no problem playing non-legal moves when my opponent prefers it (if that is the tournament rules) but like MOST players, including MOST Giants and virtually every Federation in the world, I believe legal moves is s kinder, fairer game. So I always ask. When I am turned down, I am polite about it.
Asking to play with a baffle box has nothing to do with legal moves. I always ask because I think it makes for a fairer and faster game. Again, I have no problem if a player will not use the box, but if he does not shake and roll according to the rules, I will be vigilant to call him on it. And of course, I do my best to obey all rules.
I can certainly understand why Ray feels the need to find a way to attack or belittle me in any way he can--I have made it a point to make sure the entire world is aware of the damage Ray has done to harm so many people over the years and hurt so many people and the game itself. If he didn't resent me for joining with many others to call world wide attention to the fact that this menace should it be on anyone's giant list for all the damage he has done, I would be very shocked indeed. Given all the things he has done, publicly, to embarrass the game, himself, and others, I would be wasting everyone's time to list them. His list about me would pale in comparison, and any knowledgeable player who has been around will testify to what I am saying. Because of Ray's vicious and unfair attacks on me and at least a half dozen other very respected people in the game I was forced to give up my role leading the USBGF's programs to bring more new people into the game, teach children (without charge), make many educational videos free for the membership, and donate much of my personal time and money to grow the USBGF (which I help found) and the game. I was not allowed to maintain my position and speak out in defense of myself and others. I am far from the only person who has been slandered and hurt by Ray's rankings, and some notable players have even stopped coming to tournaments because of Ray.
Thank you again Ray, for showing your anger and hurt for becoming known as Backgammon's no 1 villain. I am proud of my role to help bring this to the attention of the entire backgammon community and I appreciate every opportunity, like this, you give me to remind the world of all the disgusting things you have done over the years.
Bill Riles and others, including me, believe it is best not to air dirty laundry in public. They state it is bad for the game. Well, when tournament directors and ruling organizations take no action against people who display horrible sportsmanship, year after year, like Ray, there is little recourse but to speak out. And when Ray stands up and in writing attacks good people who, like me have proven their love for the game with their actions and in volunteering and helping both personally and financially, there is no choice but to defend yourself (and others). Turning the other check and hoping Tay will just shut up or go away has not worked for the past 20 years.
Lastly, as trite as it seems, actions speak louder than words. I will let the world judge both me and Ray by our actions, not simply by these words.
