I don't understand the situation with player B (and C). What is the risk that B runs by refusing to play legal moves?
According to normal rules he's entitled to require the illegal play to be corrected to a legal play if he so wishes. He can also let the play stand.
How can the player making the illegal play get away with the illegal play by saying "that's the risk you run"?
I just fail to understand how the player in question can "use this ploy". Please elaborate.
I agree that tournament policies should be respected by all, including the auctioneer, and that it is bad form to encourage all the players to deviate from the official policy of the tournament.
